1911 Beef Co. History

In 1857, John Braden moved to the Flint Hills of Kansas and started a small cow-calf ranching operation. This adventure set him up to become the first generation of Braden cattle ranchers.

In 1911, 54 years later, John’s great grandson, P.L., became the fourth generation in the cattle ranching business. P.L. expanded the cow-calf operation by running commercial and registered Herefords. He later began crossing his cows with registered Angus bulls, and gradually transformed the operation to consist of Herefords, Angus, and a commercial cross. Finally, PL converted to an all-Angus cattle operation. This fourth-generation cattle rancher operated and grew the business under the PL Brand.

Fast forward 112 years to 2023. The seventh generation of Bradens have taken their cattle program to the next level by providing premium beef directly to consumers’ tables. They launched 1911 Beef and look forward to bringing PL Brand beef to your home.
